Distance Covered 81Kms
The longest swim of Sufyan's professional open water career was when he swam from Iron Ghat (border between India & Bangladesh) to Mursidabad - a distance of 81 km which he covers in 11 hours and 43 minutes. Being only 14 years old at the time, Sufyan trained nearly for 8 - 10 hours a day for 6 days a week to enhance endurance for this challenging downstream swim in the holy river of Ganga.
However, this was not his only swim in the river. Sufyan also competed in a National swimming competition in the same year which was held in the city of Patna, covering 13 km.
