Bali International Marathon Swimming Championship 2007

I competed in the Indonesian Open Water Swimming Championship, which turned out to be my hottest swim to date. The water temperature was a sweltering 49 degrees Celsius, and the regional species included sea snakes and jellyfish. As the only swimmer representing India, I covered a distance of 10 km in a little over two hours. However, the extreme heat and high salt content of the water took a toll on my skin, which became dehydrated and started peeling off for two weeks after the competition. Despite the challenges, I was proud to have represented my country and pushed my limits as an open-water swimmer.
